Doomsday 2012: Will the World End?- By: Jimmy Barlow

Description : On December 21, 2012, various cataclysmic and trans-formative incidents is about to take place, otherwise known as Armageddon 2012 or the 2012 phenomenon. That date is also said to be the conclusion of the 5,125 years in the Mayan Long calendar.

New Age believers say that during this time, the world may experience a spiritual transformation, and thus interpret 2012 predictions as the start, not the end, of a new era. However, based on the Book of Revelations, many people understand that this date is the end of the world. Among the possible situations that would end the world include the planet’s clash with another planet (Planet X), black hole explosion, or the coming of the next solar maximum. Some people even created 2012 official countdown, in anticipation of what will happen to the planet that day.

The Mayans, an complex civilization during the early times, made their calendar around 250-900 AD. The Mayan civilization was exceptional during their times because they were skillful in writing, construction, and urban planning. Mayans are also famous for their pyramids and elaborate buildings. The Mayans also used many calendars and viewed time as spiritual cycles. Most of their calendars were short, but they combined their different calendars until they developed their Mayan Long calendar lasting 5,125 years. How does the end of their calendar connect with the end of the world? According to scientists, there is not enough bases that something bad, or Doomsday, would occur when the long calendar runs out of date.

An additional prediction about December 21, 2012 is the coronal mass ejection from the sun. In 1859, coronal mass ejection occurred that affected the telegraph system in North America and Europe. This is said to happen again in the year 2012, in addition to vast massive blackouts and satellite wreckage,

Another prophecy is the explosion of black hole. When it occurs, the cosmic ray waves from the black hole may cause intense and destructive tsunamis on the planet.

Is Armageddon really the end of the world? When something ends, many people assume the extreme possibilities of ending. However, according to archaeologists, the Mayans predicted an age of enlightenment when 2012 comes. The link between global catastrophe, Aztec end of the world, and Mayan calendar-based prophecy is largely fiction. The Mayan never mentioned that Doomsday would happen on 2012. The notion of a cataclysm happening in 2012 has been dismissed by scholars from various disciplines since no predictions are found in classic Maya accounts or in astronomy. NASA meanwhile has compared 2012 panic to the Y2K bug in the late 1990s.

For many years now, the Armageddon 2012 prophecy has been in the topic of many conversations. One side views it positively while the other side translates it into worldwide devastation. No one can really know what will materialize until that day arrives.
